Milk-Flavored Mashed Potato Steamed Buns

How To Make

Prepare the ingredients. It's quite simple. Baby food should be natural and contain fewer additives. The 100% lactose-based Nutrilon formula and mashed potatoes are enough for seasoning.

Measure out 150g of flour for the two-color dough.

Measure 25g of Nutrilon formula twice and add it to the flour. Each scoop is about 5g, so 5 scoops will suffice.

Take the prepared baby food of sweet potato puree (about 30g) and mix one portion into one dough, and the other portion into purple sweet potato puree. You can also use freeze-dried potato powder, dragon fruit juice, or spinach juice for coloring.

The second portion of flour is combined with freeze-dried purple sweet potato powder and Nutrilon formula.

Add warm water to the dough. If using vegetable or fruit juices for coloring, don't increase the overall water amount (150g of flour uses 80g of water). If the sweet potato puree contains water, reduce the added water accordingly.

Knead the dough into two pieces, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for about 15 minutes.

After chilling, cut the dough into small strips, about 10g each.

Roll the strips into thin rods.

Layer them alternately.

Braid them as shown.

Continue braiding the second layer.

Tuck the sides of the dough strips in.

Flip over and tuck the four corners.

Shape into a ball.

Place in a steamer to proof until it expands to 1.5 times its size (the proofing time may vary based on home temperature, so judge based on the dough's size).

This is how the dough looks after proofing.

Boil water over high heat, and steam for 10 minutes once the water is boiling.
