Coconut Milk Bird's Nest with Snow Frog
Materials
How To Make
-
The night before, soak the bird's nest, snow frog, and peach gum separately. Add two slices of ginger with the snow frog and change the water in between. My bird's nest had very few impurities; just carefully remove any if needed.
-
On the morning of the next day, remove the black membrane from the snow frog; otherwise, it will have a fishy smell when stewed. Also, gradually peel off the peach gum that is stuck to the bark.
-
Combine the bird's nest, snow frog, peach gum, red dates, goji berries, and rock sugar in a stewing pot. Add just enough water to cover the ingredients. Steam over medium heat for half an hour. Do not add coconut milk beforehand, as it will separate into clumps.
-
Finally, add the coconut milk and stew for an additional 3 minutes before serving.
