Cold Tossed Malan
Malantou, commonly known as Malan, has the effect of clearing heat and brightening the eyes. It's a seasonal dish with a unique fragrance. There's a saying that consuming it three times before the Qingming Festival can prevent eye inflammation.
Materials
Malan | 300g |
Sesame Oil | 1 tablespoon |
Sugar | to taste |
Vinegar | 1 tablespoon |
Sesame Seeds | 1 tablespoon |
How To Make

Clean the Malan thoroughly and set aside. Toast the sesame seeds over low heat until fragrant, then set aside.

Boil a pot of water. Once boiling, add the Malan and bring it back to a boil quickly before immediately removing the Malan and draining the water.

Chop the blanched Malan into small pieces and place them in a large bowl.

Add the sesame seeds to the chopped Malan, along with vinegar, sugar, and sesame oil. Mix well.
