Cold Houttuynia Cordata Salad
Materials
Houttuynia cordata | 250 grams |
Soy sauce | 2 tablespoons |
Cilantro | to taste |
Salt | 1 tablespoon |
Sugar | 2 tablespoons |
Vinegar | 2 tablespoons |
Sesame oil | 1 tablespoon |
Small chili peppers | 3 pieces |
Garlic cloves | 3 pieces |
How To Make
-
Rinse the Houttuynia cordata to remove surface dirt, then soak in lightly salted water for 15 minutes and rub off any black buds.
-
After cleaning off the black buds, cut the Houttuynia cordata into small pieces, then rinse twice with water and drain.
-
Houttuynia cordata does not need to be blanched, as it is served cold. Blanching would alter its flavor and make it less tasty! Chop small chili peppers and garlic, and cut cilantro into small pieces, then add to the Houttuynia cordata.
-
Mix the remaining dressing ingredients to create a sauce, pour over the Houttuynia cordata, and mix well. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes before serving.
-
The crunchy and tender texture is exceptionally delicious. Those trying Houttuynia cordata for the first time might be taken aback by its aroma, but after one more bite, you will surely fall in love with it!
