Cold Houttuynia Salad

Cold Houttuynia Salad
When I was young, the smell of Houttuynia cordata would make me run away as far as I could... But as I grew up, I gradually learned to accept its scent. 🤪 In my hometown, Changde, Hunan, we call it 'fishy grass.' Its leaves can be brewed into tea, and its roots can be eaten in a salad; it's said to have anti-inflammatory properties... Despite this, I never considered drinking or eating it until one day when my dad made a bowl of cold Houttuynia salad. I mustered the courage to try it, and to my surprise, it was absolutely delicious! The unique flavor of Houttuynia, combined with my dad's special sauce, was salty, fragrant, crispy, and refreshing – one bowl was definitely not enough. 😍😍
